October, 2018 – New York, NY – The Lang Lang International Music Foundation celebrated their annual fundraising gala and 10th Anniversary at Cipriani 25 Broadway in Manhattan on October 10, 2018. World-renowned pianist Lang Lang lead a performance featuring the foundation’s Young Scholars during the event. The evening also featured Golden Globe-winning actor Alec Baldwin as the host, three-time Grammy Award winner Wyclef Jean, internationally acclaimed tenor and NYC Metropolitan Opera star Roberto Alagna, and twelve-time Grammy Award Nominee Ledisi.
The Foundation’s Annual Gala was organized to raise funds for the organization, whose mission is to educate, inspire and motivate the next generation of classical music lovers and performers. The foundation raised $1.6 million that will go towards music education in the United States and China.
Founded by world renowned pianist Lang Lang in 2008, the Lang Lang International Music Foundation strives to ignite passion for music in youth so that they can be leaders in bridging cultural gaps and help to unite local and global communities. The Irving S. Gilmore International Keyboard Festival in Michigan and the Lang Lang International Music Foundation recently announced a new initiative to provide master class experiences and performance opportunities for Lang Lang Young Scholars.
