The Repêchage® LED Radio Frequency and EMS Skin Tightening Machine is a non-invasive alternative to costly machines. Painless and requiring no recovery time, this state-of-the-art device is beneficial for all skin types and is suitable for the eye contour area, face, neck and body.
There are five functions available for use with this device:
LED stands for Light Emitting Diode, which is a tiny computer chip encased in glass. Each LED wavelength or color of light provides a unique benefit to the skin.
EMS stands for Electrical Muscle Stimulation: this provides gentle electrical stimulation to the skin surface to help improve the appearance of skin elasticity, soften the appearance of wrinkles and leave skin looking smooth and healthy.
RF stands for radio frequency: Radio frequency energy uses thermal energy to help stimulate the superficial skin layers and improve the appearance of firmness.
Electroporation helps to deliver important skin care ingredients directly into the surface layers of the skin, minimizing irritation and maximizing the effectiveness of skin care products.
Mesoporation is a non-invasive technique which applies pulse currents to help the surface layer of the skin better absorb key ingredients.
For these enhanced treatments, we are going to be using this device set on the LED mode. With LED is a form of photo therapy that employs light with a wavelength between 390 nm -1,100 nm. This light can be continuous or pulsed. Each mode manifests in a specific light on the device which have different benefits.
- Red light lessens appearance of fine lines
- Green light lessens effects of dark spots or sallow discolored skin
- Blue light lessens appearance of oiliness and problems
- Amber light or yellow light, used to brighten the appearance of the skin
- Pink light, either steady or pulsed, is used to reduce the appearance of sallow dull skin, and help with the penetration of ingredients into the superficial surface of the skin.
When creating a protocol for this facial, be aware that it is necessary to always have a product or sheet mask on the skin before massaging with the LED device. If left unprotected, the client could experience irritation or even a burning sensation from the LED device.
One product that is perfect for creating the proper conductivity and cushion to the skin is the Repêchage® Pro-Electro Galvanic Gel. This moisturizing gel contains Seaweed, Hyaluronic Acid, Aloe and other botanicals to help keep the skin moisturized, as well as contains essential electrolytes from Seaweed. Electrolytes, such as Sodium, Magnesium, and Potassium found in seaweeds, help to assist in the flow of current to the skin.
Because this product is a gel, it can be applied anywhere on the body, including face, neck, décolleté and even to areas of the body for a client who is experiencing stretch marks or the appearance of cellulite.
LED Protocols:
With these easy protocols, estheticians can provide a wonderful hydration and delivery of balance to the clients’ skin with three to four products. This can be a stand-alone express treatment, or an upgrade to every facial and body treatment to help restore balance to the skin, helping the client leave the salon with beautiful, glowing skin that is never irritated.
Procedure: For all of these facials, you will be following the same procedure in general. This includes:
- Massage serum or gel into the skin for five minutes using upwards effleurage movements for five minutes.
- Place sheet mask over face, making sure it fits snugly to the contours of the face.
- Proceed with LED massage over the sheet mask for five to seven minutes, with a maximum of seven minutes.
- Roll the sheet mask gently off the face from the chin upwards.
- Gently massage in the residue of the mask and serum. Do not remove with cotton or tissue.
- Finalize treatment with appropriate moisturize or an environmental barrier cream such as Mineral Face Shield®.
Facials Based on Skin Concerns: The choice of the best combination of products for this treatment depends on the client’s skin concerns.

In this instance, the esthetician has many choices in how to employ these products. They can use the Galvanic Gel alone, mix it with the C-Serum for an extra boost of hydration, or use the C-Serum alone.
