December 2-3, 2019, Secaucus, NJ — International skin care company Repêchage® hosted their annual business networking Power Lunch for spa and salon professionals on Monday December 2, 2019, followed by a one day hands-on massage workshop led by Repêchage® CEO and Founder Lydia Sarfati. This year’s event was moderated by Kristina Rodulfo, Beauty Director of Women’s Health Magazine, and included a panel of leading female entrepreneurs in skincare, spa and wellness including Tanja Catoe, VP & Salon Coordinator for Salon Inga’ brands and Co-Owner of Crown & Mane Bespoke Blowouts, Tampa, FL., Fabiola Carr, Owner and Spa Director of MassageLuXe/FaceLuXe, Davie, FL., and Downtown Miami, FL., and Lisa Dominguez, CEO and Founder of Spa O On the Go, Owner of Spa O @ Xchange Place and Co-owner of O Beauty Bar, Hasbrouck Heights and Secaucus, NJ.
Repêchage® CEO and Founder, Lydia Sarfati, kicked off this year’s Power Lunch with her presentation: How to Boost Your Retail Business. Sarfati’s presentation offered strategies for professionals on how to have a successful retail business that is part of their company culture and a key profit driver. Sarfati touched on key takeaways such as how to assemble a great team that is educated on how to sell retail, how to properly merchandise, how to implement promotions and the best practices for selling to clients.
Following a lunch and champagne toast, Kristina Rodulfo, Beauty Director of Women’s Health Magazine, led an interactive panel with leading female entrepreneurs in skincare, spa and wellness. Sharing their personal journeys to professional success, each entrepreneur had valuable advice for attendees.
Fabiola Carr of MassageLuXe/FaceLuXe in FL shared how being involved in every aspect of the business has created success for herself and her staff. “When employees are doing a massage, I’m there to help if need be. If it’s time for a facial, I’m there to make sure they are following steps and proper protocols. If someone is booking a facial, I am upfront, knowing what to recommend as well as selling memberships,” said Carr.
Tanja Catoe of Salon Inga’ brands in FL offered insight on the importance of self-care for business owners and team members. “We want to treat our guests the best possible ways we can, but we also need to make sure we’re taking care of ourselves,” said Catoe. “I always say you can’t take care of anyone if you’re not taking care of yourself. I make sure my team understands this as well.”
Lisa Dominguez of Spa O On the Go in NJ, offered insight on how to deal with transitioning from working on your own to having a team that helps run your business. “Have compassion for your employees, have open lines of communication and never take things personally,” said Dominguez.
Following the Power Lunch, Sarfati hosted a one day hands-on workshop on best practices for facial massage at the Lydia Sarfati Post Graduate Skin Care Academy at Repêchage® corporate headquarters in Secaucus, NJ.
