Going from heavy sweaters, leggings, and boots to short sleeves and sandals can reveal flaky, dry skin! And, this isn’t just a problem for women—taking shirts off for a run can reveal a winter’s worth of dull, dry skin for men as well!
Just moisturizing won’t make skin glow from head to toe, but exfoliating beforehand will.
Exfoliation, whether through manual manipulation or by using scrubs to loosen dead skin cells, is a form of deep cleansing that is an important step in maintaining glowing skin.
Read below as I discuss professional exfoliating body treatments that you can add to your spa menu.
FUSION™ Face & Body Sugar Scrub Treatment
What it is: A deep cleansing and invigorating exfoliating treatment to create silky-smooth skin from head to toe using Repêchage® FUSION™ Chocolate Espresso INVIGORATE Face & Body Sugar Scrub or Repêchage® FUSION™ Matcha Lemongrass DEEP CLEANSE Face & Body Sugar Scrub.
How it works: These indulgent, cleansing and invigorating formulas gently exfoliate rough, dry skin, combining softening Sugar with sustainably-harvested Seaweed extracts and other natural ingredients, including Matcha, Lemongrass, Aloe, Cocoa, Coffee, and a Multi-Fruit AHA Complex to refine the skin from the delicate face and décolleté to the derriere. These soft, creamy formulas, when massaged into the skin, provide a gentle and mild warming effect.
TIP: Spa professionals can provide clients with a luxurious body treatment that can be offered as a stand-alone treatment, during a pedicure or manicure service, or as an add-on to a facial treatment.
These soft, essential scrubs are also available in retail size so clients can continue the benefits at-home.
SALON/SPA PROTOCOL
Time: 60 minutes | Frequency: Monthly or as needed
- Have the client select their favorite FUSION™ Face & Body Sugar Scrub
- Have the client undress in a room provided for them with disposable underwear and bra if needed.
- Place a bowl of water and relaxing essential oils under the headrest. Once changed, instruct the client to lie face down on the bed. We recommend this at the beginning of the service in order to enhance their relaxation experience by allowing them to inhale the aromatherapeutic oils.
- Cover the client with a Mylar sheet. Uncover one leg at a time and spray with alcohol. Gently buff skin with a Dry Brush to remove grime and oils. Repeat this process on the opposite leg, then on the back.
- Remove 4 oz. of the chosen FUSION™ Face & Body Sugar Scrub from the container and place in a rubber bowl. Dispense one teaspoon full of FUSION™ Face & Body Sugar Scrub and begin to massage the back with moistened fingertips. You may also use hot stones. Perform circular massage for five minutes. Cover back with Mylar sheet and proceed on to one leg, uncovering it from the sheet. Apply a teaspoon of the scrub and massage the entire back of leg for five minutes. Cover and proceed to the opposite leg.
- Return to the back and remove the FUSION™ Face & Body Sugar Scrub with wet, warm towels, then cover back with dry, hot towel when finished. Repeat this process for both the legs. Make sure the scrub is thoroughly removed before draping with a dry towel and proceeding.
- Have the client turn over on their back, and apply a Lamina Lift™ Hydrating Seaweed Mask to the face.
- Proceed with massage on the arms and legs, first spraying with alcohol, then gently buffing with a dry brush. Work systematically. Once finished, proceed with the application of Repêchage® FUSION™ Face & Body Sugar Scrub and massage onto each arm and leg with hot stones, one at a time. Remove scrub with hot, wet towels one at a time as well, covering with a dry, hot towel. Make sure scrub is thoroughly removed.
- Provide a five minute Shiatsu massage to the face over the Repêchage® Lamina Lift™ Hydrating Seaweed Mask. Once completed, remove mask but do not remove residue.
- If client wishes to take a shower, escort them to the shower area if you have one in your spa. When they return, or if they have remained in the room, finish the service with a light, full body massage using an appropriate Repêchage® body oil or cream.
- Have the client sit up and offer them a glass of water. Now is the time to recommend Repêchage® home care products to the client to continue the benefits of this professional treatment at home.
Honey Body Polish
What it is: A mild exfoliating spa body treatment for all ages based on honey, almond and oatmeal polish that helps remove dead skin cells and hydrates skin.

Pomegranate Cran-Apple All Over Body Scrub
What it is: An exfoliating body treatment for all ages that combines pure cane sugar with pomegranate, cranberry, and apple to create a gentle, natural exfoliating treatment.
How it works: Sugar cane is an exfoliator that combines AHA exfoliation with granular. Sugar is a natural humectant, meaning it draws moisture from the environment into the skin. It is also a natural source of glycolic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA). Sugar’s small particles make an excellent topical exfoliant, and are used in a number of body scrubs to exfoliate dead surface skin cells and reveal the glowing, healthy-looking skin underneath.

- While client is lying down, apply Eye Rescue Pads.

Dry Brush Treatment
- What it is: This is a vigorous form of manual exfoliation that helps loosen dead skin cells on the body, while feeling stimulating and invigorating.
- How it works: A dry body brush that has a wooden handle and is comprised of all natural boar bristles should be used. This fiber is softer on the skin and it can be cleaned and maintained in between treatments.
- TIP: This spa method can be done both at-home and in the salon, and dry brushing is a great pre-wax treatment to prevent ingrown hairs! I dry brush daily and it helps my skin on looking great!
SALON/SPA PROTOCOL:
- When dry brushing, start at the feet and move upwards, toward the heart.
- Stop at your breast area and dry brush arms, again in a soft, gentle circular motion going upwards towards the shoulders.
- To exfoliate the delicate décolletage, neck and face, use a smaller face brush, being sure not to be too aggressive.
- Follow a good dry brushing with a shower or bath to wash away the flakiness.
- Follow with Vita Cura® Nutri Oil or Seaweed Body Cream, and skin will feel super soft and smooth.
